I’ve been working out since I was 13. I am now 35. I studied many manuals and routines; i.e. Arnold Schwarzenneger weight lifting manual, Navy Seal fitness, Nutrition, worked out with a Russian Special Forces Retiree, etc. I’ve learned which excercises work and which do not and which techniques actually work. I understand each person is different in what works, however, there are those that work for most people. So, I know a great deal about working out.

My mother purchased a bowflex for herself, the ultimate 2. She wanted to get in shape and would never go to a gym. So, when I heard she bought it, I figured now I can see what the hype is about.

So, $1,895 plus tax, free shipping was a deal compared to the list of $2295 or something. Anyway, she received it in 7 boxes. Heavy boxes.

Now, let me tell you, this machine has many parts you need to assemble. You will need 2 people and a lot of time. A lot of time!!!

Finally assembled…tried out a few excercises…bench, pull downs, curls, squat and tricep extention.

Bench…didn’t like the individual handles. Resistance increased toward top of motion. Felt the burn in the muscles, but, nothing exciting.

Fly’s…felt good burn, not too bad.

Pull downs…nothing to put your knees under when you pull down.

Curls…nowhere near free weights

Squats…easy on the knees, good excercise for the legs. Didn’t mind them on the bowflex

Tricep extention…felt somewhat of a burn, but, very awkward.

I was just dissatisfied with the cost vs performance. It is built rock solid, but in my opinion definitely not worth the money or the time.

Summary:

You will not do all 95 excercises. You do not need to do 95. Cost $2,000 …. we have a gym close my for $10 per month. That’s 16 years of fees without the interest counted. The excercises are 60-70% quality of free weights or machines. Don’t waste your money.

You can get extremely fit in a timely manner utilizing 10 excercises. I just do not feel it is worth the money nor the time to work out on this machine. I can easily tell you how to get fit and which excercises to do; that work in about 20 min. per work out in 3-4 days per week. It’s not rocket science. You just need to know what and how to do the routine. Maybe I’ll write a manual! lol
